A CLOSER LOOK AT PRIVACY

Your work stays
with you.

Page content is processed locally.

Webpage content, PDF imports, screenshots, captured tiles, local audio, projects, and exported videos stay in your browser profile. DocuMotion does not upload those materials to a rendering or licensing service.

A source webpage may still load its own online content, scripts, images, or analytics while you browse or capture it. DocuMotion does not control that website’s network activity.

Pro licensing uses a connection.

Free capture and rendering do not need a licensing connection. Pro activation, refresh, and release communicate with license.documotion.bond using license and installation identifiers. The server checks the purchased license benefit with Polar and returns a signed access proof. The licensing host processes connection information needed to serve requests and enforce rate limits. Your purchase key is not saved by the extension. Page content and media are not part of those requests.

The extension stores a signed access proof and refresh credentials so it can verify Pro access and renew it while online. The proof supports up to seven days of offline use and normally refreshes daily while Chrome is online. Its displayed expiry is separate from the one-time purchase. An internet connection is required for activation, renewal, and confirmed device release.

Polar handles Pro checkout.

Pro purchases open a checkout hosted by Polar. Polar and its payment providers handle the email, billing, and payment information entered there under the policies shown at checkout. Card details are not entered into the extension. Your license key is available through Polar’s customer purchases page.

You control your local data.

Projects and settings use browser extension storage. Captures, audio, and exports use local IndexedDB storage. You can manage projects and clear local assets from DocuMotion’s Settings. Clearing assets removes captures, audio, and videos while retaining project names and settings. Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data.

Permissions serve the capture workflow.

DocuMotion accesses a selected page when you use its capture controls, and reads a PDF file or PDF link only when you import it. Full-page capture on Chrome and Edge can use the browser debugger permission. Re-capture may request access to the specific website. Live Browser recording requests optional tab-capture access on supported browsers.

The extension does not run a persistent content script across every website.

This website.

This site does not include analytics, advertising scripts, tracking cookies, or an email signup database. Fonts, images, and the interactive demonstration are hosted with the site. The demo uses a bundled sample webpage and cannot read your other tabs.

The site saves your light or dark theme preference in local storage on this device. This preference is not sent to a server and is not used for tracking.

The site’s hosting provider may process routine connection information, such as your IP address and browser request headers, to deliver the website. If you follow a Polar checkout link or a browser-store link, that service’s privacy policy applies.
